Ceramic Tiles

I've always wanted our home to be full of unique handmade things that are for us and about us, this fireplace project has been something I've worked on in the background for a while. I designed a surround for our fireplace, keeping 1930s aesthetic in mind as the house was built in 1937. I tried to give it an art deco feel. It is entirely made from scrap wood, left over decking and stuff from skips, I love how it turned out. I’m self taught in ceramics, so making these custom tiles taught me a lot. They are filled with symbols that have stories behind them, that I can tell my kids as they grow up.
