Woven wool tapestry with vibrant colours

Weave

When I was a child my parents ran a knitting factory on Capel Street. They used to knit the cuffs for jackets, they also made garters and communion/wedding headdresses. I used to spend some time in the factory on school holidays or over the summer, doing small jobs and invoicing my dad for them! The activity of the factory was so exciting to me, the big machines, the sewing machines, the big reams of thread, I still remember the smell of the oil on the machines mixed with a smell of wool. To this day I love textiles and creating work in fibres. These are some woven tapestries I’ve made. It’s always something I will love doing and will continue to do.
